My name is Spencer Miller and I am the Macro Chef. Two of my biggest passions in life are cooking healthy food and cycling. If I am not in the kitchen whipping up my next recipes, I am probably out riding my bike. I am 21 years old, and attend Marian University in Indianapolis where I study business, and also am a collegiate cyclist.
I am studying business, with a major in finance and entrepreneurship, and then going to do a minor in exercise science. These are two of my passions: business and health/fitness, so I don’t think there could have been a better degree combination for me to go after.
MacroChef
I started MacroChef about 6 years ago. It started out with me wanting to eat healthier, lose some weight, and increase my performance in sports. I started using supplements, primarily protein. I have a huge sweet tooth and missed all the delicious desserts that I had eaten when I was younger. I thought to myself, “Why not make healthy, protein packed desserts I can enjoy while still being healthy?” And that is where it all started. Now, 6 years later I have developed it into a business and worked with the biggest supplement companies in the world as well as being featured in magazines and websites such as Bodybuilding.com.
It all started as a necessity, and developed into a passion. I love cooking. I love being healthy. And, I love making recipes for others to enjoy. There is nothing I love more than someone tagging me and saying they made a recipe of mine and loved it!
Cycling
Like I mentioned above, I am 21 years old and currently attending Marian University. I am a junior, and attend on a cycling and academic scholarship. I was part of the national championship winning team in 2019, and look froward to being part of the team again.
Thought my 5 or 6 years as a cyclist, I have been able to visit some amazing places. I have raced in multiple countries, and a vast majority of the states here in the U.S. My most exciting trips have been the last two summers going over to Belgium to race. It is funny how Belgium is a country smaller than the state of Indiana, yet it is one of the strongest and most talented cycling countries in the world. For them, cycling is the national sport, just as football or basketball is here in the U.S.
Aside from all the racing, I really just love to ride my bike and visit new places, try new food, and sip a coffee at new coffee shops. My most memorable ride to date was a 200 mile ride that I did this past summer while in Belgium. I rode through Belgium, France, and the Netherlands all in one day. It was a total of 10 hours of riding, with numerous stops for pastries and coffee to keep me fueled. I’m pretty sure I ate a whole package of Oreos and a pound of bread pudding that day as well!
