So, as you might be able to tell by this post and my last one, I have been on a huge smoothie kick lately. This time I decided to go with a blueberry almond superfood protein smoothie.
Sometimes I call these hulk smoothies because of the vibrant green color from the kale and spinach. I really like adding the greens to the smoothie because it makes me feel good about myself. It’s kind of like eating a salad without even knowing it!
The reason it’s a superfood smoothie is from all the delicious, crazy healthy ingredients. I used almond milk, pure Native Fuel whey protein powder, natural almond butter, chia seeds, greek yogurt, spinach, kale, and blueberries. There are healthy fats in the chia seeds and almond butter. Protein from the greek yogurt and protein powder. And, of course all kinds of vitamins and antioxidants in the blueberries and greens.
There is nothing bad for you in that list. And, the best part is that it actually tastes amazing. Trust me. You can barely taste the greens, but you still get all the amazing health benefits.

This smoothie is thick, packed with protein and nutrients, and of course delicious. You can’t even taste the greens and the combination of vanilla protein, blueberries, and almond butter make for an amazingly tasty breakfast or post workout smoothie.
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk (I used unsweetened almond)
- 1/2 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 frozen, ripe banana*
- 1 cup spinach/baby kale mix**
- 1 1/2 scoops Ascent vanilla Native Fuel whey
- 1 tbsp. creamy almond butter
- 2 tbsp. chia seeds (plus more for topping)
- Fresh blueberries (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a powerful blender. Blend until smooth and no chunks of greens or frozen blueberries.
- Can drink now, or place in fridge for an hour to let chia seeds soak up liquid and make the smoothie nice and thick. I like to do this so I can eat it with a spoon! Enjoy!

Notes
*Banana is optional, but it adds a little extra natural sweetness that tastes delicious![br]**Kale has a really strong flavor, so I like to use the juicing greens blend you can buy at the grocery which has spinach and baby kale. You can also just use spinach.
