This past weekend, I decided that I would make myself a pre-birthday, birthday cake. But, I didn’t just make it because it was almost my birthday. I mostly made it because I love cake! And, since I really love chocolate, I had to have chocolate in this cake. I went with a butterscotch chocolate chip protein cake.
I have very rarely make things that are butterscotch flavor. I definitely need to make this flavor more often. I forget how amazing it is. The butterscotch flavor comes from using some caramel extract in the cake and then topping it with sugar free butterscotch pudding.
Amazingly, this whole cake has nearly 40 grams of protein. I used my MusclePharm vanilla combat protein powder which has awesome flavor and a quality blend of proteins. I also had to use some chocolate in this recipe because can’t live without chocolate. There are mini chocolate chips in the batter and on top. I melted some more and drizzled it over the top. It was delicious!
