Here we are again. Less than a week away until Christmas. I can’t believe how the year has flown by. It seemed like just last week it was Thanksgiving. Anyway, to get into the holiday spirit I decided to make these Chocolate Chip Christmas Protein Muffins.
I’m sure you all know by now just how much I love chocolate. If I could, I’d probably put it in every single recipe I made. I’ve never met a chocolate I didn’t like haha! These muffins are no exception.
Muffins with Christmas sprinkles are already good, but add some decadent chocolate chips, and it takes it to a whole new level. And of course, the Ascent native fuel vanilla whey gives you a healthy, pure protein source for added flavor and nutrients.
The best part about these, is that they are actually healthy for you unlike most of the other treats you will be having this holiday season. Made with whole wheat flour, natural sweetener, and packed with protein. Christmas treats don’t get much better than that.

- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2/3 cup (150g) vanilla Greek yogurt
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup (or honey/agave)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (or preferred milk)
- 1 whole egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 3 tbsp. Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F. Add flour, protein powder, baking powder, cinnamon and salt to a large bowl. Mix.
- In a separate bowl, add greek yogurt, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix.
- Slowly add wet ingredients to dry while stirring. Fold together until all combined. Be careful not to over mix.
- Add chocolate chips and sprinkles. Gently stir into the batter.
- Evenly spoon batter into 9 non-stick muffin liners. Bake for about 15-18 minutes or until a knife comes out clean. Better off baking a little less than a little more so that they don’t dry out.
