The most perfect recipe for summer has got to be popsicles right? Well, popsicles and ice cream, or anything cold and sweet to cool you down in the heat. I decided to go with a strawberry watermelon flavor for these pre-workout popsicles. Watermelon is already such a refreshing thing in the summer that I figured I couldn’t go wrong with it in popsicles.
And hey, the best part is that these give you an excuse to eat popsicles before your workout. They are naturally sweetened, bursting with fruit flavor, packed with quality caffeine, and the perfect thing to get you ready for your workout.
I didn’t put any whole chunks of fruit in there, but you totally could. I didn’t even think of that until I was writing this. Putting some sliced watermelon and strawberry chunks in these would really set them over the top. I guess I will just have to make them again and do that next time!
Anyway, back to the whole caffeine and pre-workout thing. Each serving of the Ascent watermelon pre-workout used in this recipe has 150mg of caffeine from green tea extract. This will give you a steady flow of energy to power through your workout! Who doesn’t love that?!?
