It’s that time of year again. Super Bowl Sunday. You know there is gonna be all kinds of unhealthy foods. Why not make something healthy and delicious? I decided to make some cookie dough protein baked oatmeal. I think this is my favorite baked oatmeal yet. You can’t go wrong with anything cookie dough flavored. Who are you all going to root for in Super Bowl XLIX while eating some cookie dough baked oatmeal?
The baked oats were sweet, and filled with dairy free mini chocolate chips. The texture was light and fluffy which was awesome and sometimes hard to get with baked oatmeal. It was a great healthy treat to hold off some of the cravings you might get being surrounded by all of the Super Bowl sweets.
There is no reason to eat unhealthy when you can make treats like this that are just as delicious. And yes, even though it is cookie dough flavored, it IS healthy.
I was lucky enough to have Detour send me some of their new Detour Simple protein bars that still have not actually been released yet. They sent me the salted caramel cookie dough flavor. It was an amazing protein bar. It had an awesome tasted and the salted caramel flavor combined with cookie dough really was a killer combination. The best part about this line of bars is that they are all natural. No artificial sweeteners, no gluten, and non-GMO. you can’t go wrong with a bar that tastes as good as this, and isn’t filled with artificial ingredients. Make sure you go check out their page so you can be notified when they are released.
I decided to keep it simple with the protein powder in this recipe to really let the cookie dough flavor shine. I used Musclepharm’s vanilla combat protein powder. I didn’t just top the baked oatmeal with chopped up salted caramel cookie dough protein bar. I also added peanut butter and more chocolate chips. You know it’s gonna be good when you add peanut butter and chocolate!
