Chocolate peanut butter protein mousse. If that doesn’t sound like an amazing dessert then I don’t know what does. You all know how much I am obsessed with my chocolate and peanut butter, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed this recipe. Although, this isn’t your typical unhealthy chocolate mousse. It’s protein packed, smooth, and delicious.
A few years ago I made a fantastic chocolate secret-ingredient pudding. It used banana to help sweeten it and avocado to give it a super smooth, creamy texture. I didn’t add protein to it this time. This week, I was working on my website and saw that I had made it in the past. It was so delicious that I figured I had to make a protein version, and of course add some peanut butter in there as well.
This recipe is a higher fat, lower carb recipe. I have had some people request lower carb and/or keto friendly recipes so here’s a go at a delicious low carb dessert. The fats from the peanut butter and avocado are not only super healthy, unsaturated fats, but they are also key in making this mousse so thick and creamy.
To give it the protein, I used my Ascent chocolate micellar casein protein and a little bit of vanilla Greek yogurt. Each serving has nearly 10 grams of high quality protein! I will definitely be making this recipe again. I, of course, loved it. My grandparents loved it. My mom loved it. But, how could you not love a creamy chocolate peanut butter protein mousse?!
