The warm weather is finally here, so that means it’s time for a slushie recipe to cool down. This one is perfect for the time of year as we approach the warm summer months with delicious flavors of raspberry lemonade.
This is actually the first pre workout recipe I have ever made. Ascent just sent me some of their new line of pre workout. They have this raspberry lemonade flavor as well as a watermelon flavor. I am excited to try the watermelon flavor. Anyway, obviously this one is raspberry lemonade which was quite refreshing. Oh yeah, and I almost forgot the best part about this stuff. Each serving has 150mg of caffeine from green tea extract. I don’t know about you, but I think caffeine gives you super powers when working out!
I used frozen raspberries, fresh lime juice, and honey to give this an awesome raspberry lemonade flavor. I also opted to add a scoop of vanilla whey for a little extra protein boost and flavor. If you wanted this for post workout, you could totally leave out the pre workout. Or, if you want to leave out the protein powder and exclusively use this for pre workout you can do that too.
That is one of my favorite parts about recipes like this. There are so many different things you can do to customize them for your needs. If you want it sweeter you can add more honey. If you need less carbs/calories, of course you can omit the honey all together. The options are endless. One thing I know for sure however is that it will be delicious no matter what!
