It’s still hot, and that means it’s still time for some cool, refreshing pre-workout drinks. Watermelon is always refreshing and hydrating and I was wondering what would go well with it. I have never had coconut and watermelon together, but it turned out awesome. The watermelon is fresh, and the coconut is creamy to make for a delicious pre-workout smoothie.
I call this a pre-workout smoothie because it uses the Ascent watermelon pre-workout, but honestly it could be used whenever you need energy. If you need some caffeine after your morning workout, you could throw in a scoop of vanilla whey and have this for a tasty, energizing post-workout treat.
Another cool thing about this recipe is that you really don’t need to add any extra liquid. The frozen watermelon, as you would expect, is pretty much all water anyway. Just blend it up with the pre-workout, coconut, honey to taste, and protein if desired. That’s all you need to whip up this simple and delicious smoothie.
